Fish are regularly stocked from May through September. The lake is stocked by the Department of Fish and Wildlife and private hatcheries. While trout are the main catch, you will also find Bass (catch & release), Catfish and Crappie.
FISHING INFORMATION & RULES
Per CDFW regulations, any person who is 16 years of age or older must have a sport fishing license.

The lake limit for trout is five (5) fish per day per person. Each fisher person must have
their own individual stringer, with no more than five trout attached. All CDFG rules and regulations are in effect and enforced at Green Valley Lake.
Fish can not be cleaned in the lake. There is a fish cleaning station near the Boat House.
No fishing is allowed in the designated swimming area, at the east end of the lake. No swimming allowed in the fishing area.
No open fires are allowed around the lake. Barbeque grills are located in the picnic area.
Fishing is allowed from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily. Locations are on the first come first
served basis. On crowded days, fishing may be limited to one pole per person.
Fun, laughter, good memories, and catching fish; we welcome. Foul language or inappropriate behavior; we don't welcome. You may be asked to leave or your pass may be revoked.
All dogs must be on a 6 feet or shorter leash at all times (no expanding leases allowed). We reserve the right to request that a dog be muzzled, per S.B. County Code.
No fishing is allowed from the dam except from boats.
No fishing is allowed in the Boat Dock area. During fish plants, there may be other "no fishing" areas to allow the fish to adjust to the lake.
"Catch and release" fishing is allowed with lures only. No "catch and release" when using bait.
No hip waders, float tubes or inflatable craft are allowed on the lake. Some types of inflatable craft are allowed in the swimming area.
No motorized boats of any type will be allowed on the lake.
Fishing tackle, bait and supplies are available from the Green Valley Lake merchants.
Portable toilets are placed around the lake for your convenience.
Always try to leave your area cleaner than you found it. Trash receptacles are located around the lake.
GVL Recreation, Inc. reserves the right to revoke any pass at anytime for non compliance with the lake rules.
